Chumpalooza Is On!

It’s happening!

Join us for the first Chump Nation get together and conference — Chumpalooza!

When: Friday, Nov. 3 – Sunday, Nov. 5

Where: Maritime Conference Center, Linthicum Heights, Maryland.

Until June 15, you can get Early Bird tickets here on Eventbrite.

The $150 admission is good for Friday – Sunday, including an entire Saturday of programming, with lunch, and morning and afternoon snacks. Early birds get the first whacks at the unicorn piñata!

What’s Happening

Meet your tribe and enjoy a Saturday full of programming with Chump Lady and guests. Mr. CL will give his lawyerly “If It Feels Good Don’t Do It” talk, we’ll have family law experts, panel discussions, and we’ll cap off the evening with bashing a unicorn and listening to Tell Me How You’re Mighty stories, hosted by CN’s own (and Moth radio veteran) UXWorld.

Accommodations

Chumpalooza will be at the Maritime Conference Center in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. It’s near the Baltimore-Washington (BWI) airport — and MCC provides free shuttle service to and from the airport and the Amtrak station. (About a 10-minute ride.)

Accommodations have been held for Chumpalooza attendees at a special rate of $165 a night, which includes meals. All accommodations should be booked directly through the MCC. There are single queen bedrooms and double queen bedrooms and a select number of suites.

All rooms include buffet dinner and breakfast for each person staying in a room.

Ask Chump Lady

Got a question for the Chump Lady? Or a submission for the Universal Bullshit Translator? Write to me at [email protected]. Read more about submission guidelines.
  • Excellent timing putting this out on Mother’s Day! It’s a bit like a gift for the many of us co-parenting with a FW. I’m going to have to book it on faith that I’ll be able to attend that weekend. I want a crack at whacking that unicorn!

    • “B-more” would make a great slogan for the weekend. As in, “Be more than a fuckwit’s chump!—Gain a life!”

  • Got registered for both hotel and event. So excited!
If you’re from Maryland, note that the hotel’s website lists Maryland AFTER Massachusetts and BEFORE Maine.
Eventbrite has a question for those NOT staying at MCC but those staying at MCC must still answer the question to avoid an error message. If you use Paypal it looks as if you have to select 4 no-interest payments, but once you select 4 no-interest payments, the usual Paypal pay-in-full shows up.

    • Thanks! I will see if I can fix that error on answering the question. We’re just trying to get a head count on who’d like to come for hotel breakfasts (who isn’t staying at the hotel). Appreciate the feedback!

  • As much as I love this… I have a lot of food allergies. I do not expect places to cater to me… too hard. Is there a webinar option?

    • Unleashed,
The meals are all buffet and quite extensive. Also, the rooms have refrigerators.
      Don’t know if that helps.

    • In the FB thread Tracy said she will look into different options for those of us with food allergies and intolerances. It was also mentioned that there’s no webinar options this year, maybe in the future?

  • Tracy!!! To say I am proud of you and this Nation you birthed is a monumental understatement! Just exceptional that you are arranging this Chumpalooza. For those of us that will not be able to attend the LIVE, in person Reunion of the Mightiest, I hope there will be at least portions available for on-line viewing at some point. I would be willing to contribute towards the cost.
ForgeOn! all you amazing Mighty Ones. Love to all….

  • It’s in November?? I might be able to go! I would love to meet you Tracy! You’ve been there for me way back in 2013!
    ❤️

  • I’m booked. Event and hotel. With the meals included, hotel rate is a bargain!! Plane tix next.

  • If you haven’t lined up all the sessions (or break out sessions, or informal groups that might meet), having one for those of us who are “Silver Queens” (as the old website had it, and so much nicer than the usual “grey divorce”) would be useful.

  • Tickets have been purchased!! I am so thrilled. I don’t comment much but I love and appreciate this community so much. I have been reading this daily for the 5 years since my divorce. You were my lifeline in the early days!

  • Just wondering…. If I have reached Tuesday and at “meh”, is this something that will be of value? Been divorced 10 years, but still love Chump Nation!

    • Hi Freda, yes absolutely. In fact, you can share your Tell Me How You’re Mighty story and inspire the newbies. There will be a variety of programming for wherever you’re at, D-Day to Meh — and also, just fun stuff like happy hour and destroying some unicorn piñata’s.

  • Can’t make it due to a work conference that same weekend (you know, the whole “gaining a life” thing)…but would love to get a save the date for a potential 2024 Chumpapalooza! 💗
