Penelope Hegseth Regrets Brief Moment of Lucidity

penelope hegseth

Penelope Hegseth, mother of serial cheater and super creep Pete Hegseth, once called him out on his appalling treatment of women. And then later walked it back.

***

In 2018, mortified mother Penelope Hegseth, fed up with her son Pete’s wandering dick, wrote him a scathing email. The New York Times reports (gift link):

“On behalf of all the women (and I know it’s many) you have abused in some way, I say … get some help and take an honest look at yourself,” Penelope Hegseth wrote, stating that she still loved him.

She also wrote: “I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth.”

On behalf of chumps everywhere who’ve ever longed from validation from their former in-laws that their cheating children were less than stellar:

What’s the sad, sad truth about Pete Hegseth?

Pete Hegseth is a Fox news reader and purported pick to lead the Defense Department. A job he apparently qualifies for thanks to his square forehead and flamboyant misogyny.

When Penelope sent that email, Pete was on his second divorce. Since then he has achieved 7 children, 3 marriages, countless Schmoopies, and one credible sexual assault claim.

Here’s a brief timeline of Pete Hegseth’s wandering dick.

Meredith Schwarz (chump)

In 2004, Hegseth married his high school sweetheart Meredith, and proceeded to cheat on her throughout the marriage. The Daily Beast following on a Vanity Fair article, reports:

While the couple remained together despite frequently being geographically apart, Hegseth already displayed behavior that troubled the two’s friends. Two sources told Vanity Fair that, on one occasion, Hegseth went out for a night of drinking with his college friends, but didn’t return, prompting Schwarz to call hospitals. He returned in the morning and castigated his wife for fretting about his absence.

In spring 2008, Hegseth reportedly told Schwarz that he wanted to move back to Minnesota with her, where he would pursue a graduate degree at the University of Minnesota. Eager to be reunited with her husband, Schwarz quit her finance job, sold her apartment, and moved to Minneapolis.

But Hegseth didn’t come. He waffled on his plans, sources said, offering different stories to Schwarz about what was going on. Meanwhile, she suffered.

In November of that year, Hegseth took a trip to Minnesota (wearing his army uniform) and finally admitted his infidelity to Schwarz. She was crushed, the sources said, and Hegseth himself seemed racked by guilt.

Schwarz’s younger brother called Hegseth the next day for an hours-long conversation, a source familiar with the situation told Vanity Fair.

“Pete said he no longer believed in God and family values,” the source said. “He claimed he no longer wanted to seek the limelight. He said, and this quote is as clear as day, ‘I’m a f–ked up individual.’”

Although Schwarz still tried to make the marriage work—she loved him—it didn’t last long. She noticed charges for hotel rooms on her credit card that she didn’t recognize.

Confronted about it, Hegseth couldn’t give a straight answer, sources said, but Schwarz would later learn that the room was for him and Samantha Deering, a woman who also worked at Vets for Freedom whom Hegseth would later marry.

Hegseth reportedly admitted to Schwarz that he had had five affairs while the two were married, which was when she decided to end their communication and divorce him.

Only five? My cynical Chump Lady take is that if you have confirmation of five affairs, add a zero. Anyway, Pete begins his pattern of knocking up co-workers.

Samantha Deering (OW-Wifetress)

Samantha collects her pick me dance prize! Her reward? Three square-foreheaded children and a contentious divorce, where her serial cheating husband will impregnate yet another co-worker, but accuse HER of being a bad parent. #winning

At that time, Penelope Hegseth defended her daughter-in-law to her FW son, according to the New York Times.

Mr. Hegseth’s mother wrote in the email that she was upset about his treatment of Samantha, writing: “For you to try to label her as ‘unstable’ for your own advantage is despicable and abusive. Is there any sense of decency left in you?”

“She did not ask for or deserve any of what has come to her by your hand,” she said. “Neither did Meredith,” Mrs. Hegseth added, referring to his first wife.

Projection much, Pete? Unstable?

In the years that followed, Pete and Samantha Hegseth continued to fight over care of the children, according to documents in their divorce record. In 2020, after Mr. Hegseth sent a text to his ex-wife calling her “pathetic and selfish,” the court-appointed consultant said she wanted to see “an action plan from Pete regarding cessation of hostile and degrading communication to and about Sam.”

Jennifer Rauchet (OW-Wifetress)

Whoever will win this dreamboat next? It’s Jennifer! The super special orifice that will keep Pete from straying. Nothing says conservative family values like being married to your second wife while your future third wife gives birth. #soverystable

The problem here isn’t that dicks wander, it’s that uppity women choose divorce.

“Had I been raised in a family where faith, fidelity and fatherhood were not valued, my choices could have led to family breakdown,” he wrote in a publication about fragmented families for the Center of the American Experiment, a nonprofit group.

Yes, the explosive tonnage of this hypocrisy has been harnessed by the Pentagon. #manhattanFWproject

The important thing is that Pete’s wandering dick does not lead to FAMILY BREAKDOWN. We all must accept the divine, inherent rights of Pete’s wandering dick, just like Penelope has.

Mrs. Hegseth said on Friday that she would consider providing The Times with her apologetic follow-up email to her son but did not immediately do so. Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Mr. Trump, said in an email that The Times was “despicable” for publishing “an out-of-context snippet” of Mrs. Hegseth’s exchange with her son, adding that Mrs. Hegseth had “expressed regret for her emotional message and apologized.”

Pay no attention to that mad mother locked in the attic. Penelope Hesgeth is very emotional. You know how hormonal women get.

She’s over 50.

You know what lucid raging shrews menopausal women are.

If you went through the FBI, CIA, or Government agencies, how many faithful men would you find? I’m sure every country in the world knows how to compromise us.We are wide open
It’s a shame and it worries my heart just thinking about it.

Spot on, 2xChump.

FW has a position where he got specific training to avoid being compromised by a female foreign agent. He probably thought he was fine sleeping with a fellow married military member. Ironically he was still vulnerable to blackmail; only the threat of revealing his infidelity kept him from forcing our divorce into court.

Well, yes. But I don’t doubt that every country in the world right now has similar problems. We’re not the only ones with narcissistic fuckwits. They’re fucking everywhere.

It’s just that we’ve decided to give some of the most obvious ones power. Ay yi yi.🤦‍♂️

The long run! Well said. This syndrome is universal
The reason people with this mental process of entitlement, arrogance and abuse can gain power is they are like Steam rollers that have no feeling conscious and no rules. They can flatten and roll over chumps like blowing bubbles in the wind..bye bye! Next!!! Fire and hire. While chumps obsessed with them wring their hands and take them back. I loved your ay yi yi!! Haaa My Chump mamma used to say that to all things you have to deal with Ay yi yi.

This is not related to coverage, but found in 2021 from fbi- ‘seeking potential victims in Brian Jeffrey Raymond Investigation’

When I’m out of the US, the only English language newsfeed I can get on my phone is British so I’ve seen the coverage. Not a big surprise the UK press isn’t as prone to suppressing US-based “inconvenient truths” as much as it does its own bad news and vice-versa.

That’s the turd that rose to the top..there’s a deep basement of arrogance and entitlement that goes with that dark world. Chump lady keeps me laughing with all her choice snark, but she will be very busy. Keep educating the world Tracy, never stop believing in justice. We must keep going.

It might be time to re-read James Ellroy political noir novels in preparation for all the creepy modern noir we’re about to witness. The author famously lost his mother to violent rape and murder at the age of ten and seems to equate violent perversion with political tyranny quite a bit. Then Filmmaker Pablo Larrain has a similar obsession since almost all his films correlate rape and sexual control with tyranny. Even his historical film No has a subtheme showing how the protagonist’s real political evolution and success in bringing down Pinochet only occur when he stops trying to motherize/infantalize and control his far braver ex wife.

His mother nailed it. I see Pete has “The Bitch Be Crazy Red Flag” high flying. We have got to get better as a society at recognizing this very predictable post-separation abuse pattern. My FW unsuccessfully tried this type of false accusation on me, he was “sooooo worried” I had postpartum depression after my 3rd baby. Thankfully, my friends stuck up for me.

It’s hard to feel sorry for the last two OWives since they knew perfectly well what they were signing up for and may have been cheerleaders for or even helped craft the “crazy unfit mother” smear strategy only to get hoisted on their own petards.

But especially when aimed at a responsible parent, it’s really the most evil lie going and no joke since it can have dire consequences– a total declaration of war.

Given Mr Hegseth’s track record, he would have to be a very special kind of disordered to seek public office ….. oh, wait, he is! As regards his mother’s email, I have little doubt that she knows way more than she said, even though she said a lot. She was right to judge her son’s behaviour and her subsequent “walk back” suggests that she was got at.

My two takeaways here are that (firstly) politics is a dirty business and a lot of people involved in politics have dirty hands and (secondly) that it is inevitable that those that are close to a Cheater will know things (and have opinions) that the Cheater will not be comfortable with them sharing more widely.

And on the subject of a Cheater’s mother judging the Cheater, I do remember feeling somewhat validated when my MIL (Ex-Mrs LFTT’s adoptive mother) told me how glad she was that I got custody of her grandchildren. Apparently (and I wish that she had told me this much MUCH earlier), MIL had always been concerned about her daughter’s lack of maternal instinct!

How refreshing! A mother who holds her offspring accountable. I wonder why she dialed back with an apology? Threats of never seeing the grandchildren if she didn’t? Her son sounds perfectly horrible & another patriarchal creep to add to the shit pile. Good points on these losers easily being led by their dicks to revealing state secrets & then being blackmailed. This guy should come with a warning “beware may contain destruction”

Thank you for this. I didn’t know just how much I needed the CL take-down of Cheater Hegseth. That “square forehead and flamboyant misogyny” cements CL’s reputation as Queen of Snark. Or Empress of Snark. Or Goddess of Snark.

Just like in the microcosm of a family .. in the macrocosm of a nation these act of misconduct provide fertile ground for blackmailing/compromising an person and destroying the whole community whether it’s a family or a nation. It’s saddening.

There are two further sexual misconduct/assault cases against former CIA officers going on but the biggest recent case is former CIA agent Brian Jeffrey Raymond who just got 30 years for drugging and raping over a dozen women.

Interesting how Raymond (before he shaved his head and grew a beard) looked a lot like Hegseth– same square forehead and pudding-ish, lipless icky-manbaby lower face. Is there some clone factory in Utah cranking out rapey clowns?

More from Pete in that Center of the American Experiment rag:

“I’ve been divorced and conceived a child out-of-wedlock with my second and “ultimate” wife (to steal Pearlstein’s verbiage). We married, had that child, and have now had a second child. No policies or tax incentives changed my by-definition high-risk behavior. It was my family and the culture of values and priorities they instilled that enabled me to move past circumstances that plague so many adults and children.”

I guess she wasn’t your “ultimate” wife after all, eh, Pete? He repeated that exact “high-risk behavior” (cheating and impregnating AP) with Wife #2, and allegedly raped someone two months after that child was born and one month after Wife #2 filed for divorce.

What a culture of values! What priorities his family instilled!

Even Republicans are raising concerns over wide reports of Hegseth’s day drinking and binging issues. Maybe we can look forward to him drunk dialing foreign officials like Nixon did? In any case, it would be very Hoover era to have a psychotically alcoholic, embezzling groper running the most lethal military machine in history.

In fact, it’s very Dr. Strangelove. If he clenches his jaw really hard as he does in all his press photos, Hegseth even looks a bit like Sterling Hayden’s General Jack D. Ripper… except when he opens his mouth to speak and out comes that whiney voice and his entire lower face becomes doughy lipless pudding. It’s just what you’d expect the harbinger of doom to be like.

I think you nailed the essence of tyranny– funny as shit until suddenly it isn’t. Vladimir Nabokov, who escaped Stalin’s regime then lost a brother to the Nazis, wrote a novel (Bend Sinister) which I think meant to warn that, when radical evil takes hold, people with half a brain are always laughing too hard at all the idiots in power to realize how dangerous they are.

It rings true to me and Bend Sinister scared me more than anything I’ve ever read. Even Einstein thought Hitler was a joke at first and didn’t take any of it seriously. In the introduction to the book, Nabokov expresses a lot of disdain for Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four which I’m guessing is because Orwell created these rather intelligent, almost magically omniscient villains while, in Nabokov’s first-hand experience, that’s never how it is. The most lethal villains always first appear as clowns.

Reminds me of serial cheater Newt Gingrich. This classic from The Week:
“Family values” don’t apply to him:
When Marianne confronted Newt about his cheating, he had just returned from a speech where he spoke of the importance of family values. Yet he asked her to simply tolerate the affair. She refused, and asked him how he could give high-minded speeches while simultaneously running around on his wife. “It doesn’t matter what I do,” he answered. “People need to hear what I have to say.”

That’s the evil fucker who came marching into the hospital where his wife was just out of surgery for uterine cancer and harassed her with demands for a divorce. It was literally a list on a yellow legal pad, and she was barely awake. No doubt he was hoping that in a loopy state like that he could get her to agree to his demands. Another time he was getting a blowjob from a schmoopie in his car while waiting for his daughters to be brought to him. Naturally, they saw. I call that sexual abuse. He is the lowest of the low.

Had no idea re his history. These douchebags have no shame! Good on his mother for calling him out although again these douchebags don’t care. I hope as a country he gets shamed at his hearing if he gets that far this is really unacceptable. I understand there have been others like him in our gov’t throughout history but at least at the time it wasn’t public knowledge. Once it becomes public it really has to be unacceptable especially when you are pretending to be a God and country type.

It is never a good thing, but it was known through out history including JFK, LBJ, MLK, Clinton, Nixon Eisenhower and many others.

I am glad that now it is so easily spread, I continue to marvel at the men who do this shit, especially in the last couple decades and think they will get away with it.
