Elon Musk’s Creepy Harem

It is incredibly scary and also relevant to the issue of domestic abuse because it’s all about how junk science can be used to fuel bigotry. In that sense, all the ugly “isms” relate from sexism to racism to ableism, etc.

I discovered this when doing research for special ed attorneys on “eugenicist” spin regarding autism, especially the sudden rash of mainstream academic studies absurdly correlating school shooters and serial killers to “autism genes” and claims that the so-called “dictator gene” or “zero empathy genes” overlap with autism.

The interesting thing is that I wasn’t asked to do the research because of a scientific background but because of previous work researching and writing about the effects of junk social science theories and crap evolutionary theories on domestic violence policy and institutional and social views and treatment towards victims. Eerily, it was kind of a seamless transfer. I was even able to use some of the same scientific sources and interview subjects. Basically the point of the project wasn’t so much scientific as political– to demonstrate how, in an age when scientific theory (for better or worse) often forms the basis for laws and policies which in turn (given the power of science today) powerfully impact public perceptions, junk genetics and junk evolutionary science was creating a kind of violent “fatwa” against individuals on the spectrum. It was clear that even untested and upreplicated demonizing theories were fueling institutional abuse of the disabled, including police excessive force deaths and use of deadly restraint and seclusion in schools, the latter of which are disproportionately deadly to individuals with autism, particularly children (at a terrifying rate of about 150 restraint and seclusion deaths a year since 1989).

In the end we had to conclude that the death toll is not happenstance but completely predictable because today’s junk genetic hunt for putative “crime genes”– like all forms of 20th century totalitarian “scientism”– is really about the creation of supposedly genetic castes in order to rationalize the suppression or eradication of “inconvenient” populations. It also serves a political function. By sewing up and attributing all human evil to certain identifiable diagnostic categories and ethnic groups (especially those from countries the west wants to invade for valuable resources), it can be used to “manufacture consent” among the public for the collateral or deliberate killing of children on the view that they’re genetic “bad seeds” and predetermined criminals so “no big loss.”

Anyway, many of the themes are the same regarding the misogyny underlying a lot of domestic abuse and how junk science is so often used to rationalize lack of enforcement against it, disparaging and blaming views of victims and lack of protection for victims. Though not as deliberate as in weaponized racial science used by the military industrial complex to rationalize war crimes and in weaponized neurogenetics used against the disabled, there’s also very high child collateral in domestic abuse as a result of these policies.

The horribly ironic thing about Musk self-diagnosing with autism– apart from deepening the dangerous public misconception that autism correlates to criminal and “asshole” behavior– is that Musk seems to subscribe to a kind of caste system even within the diagnostic category by labeling himself with Asperger’s despite the fact that it’s no longer used. But I think it’s clear why he did this: because, since Hans Asperger first spared high functioning individuals from the Nazi T-4 program while sending less “gifty” children to be starved, poisoned or gassed in killing hospitals like Am Spiegelgrund, Hadamar and Hartheim, this particular label is viewed by some as the “good” and “useful” kind of autism. From DOGE cuts to special education and disability programs so far which largely throw the more challenging low- and non-verbal– i.e., less “useful”– forms of autism under the bus, it’s obvious that Musk sharply distinguishes himself from the latter.

The overlaps of “isms” again. I think it’s completely predictable from an all around racist and sexist abuser. According to his Nazi salute, I don’t even think Musk minds much that the eugenic flipside of creating a “positive caste” within autism by mythically labeling Asperger’s the “Einstein disorder” is that some have also labeled it the “Hitler disorder.” I guess that wouldn’t seem like a bad thing to people who think Hitler was a (retch) “visionary genius”? But most people on the planet don’t share that view so it just increases the fatwa against autism.
