Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski: A Hypocrisy Supernova

Source: Facebook

There are Jesus cheaters and then there are Family-Values-Crytpo-Fascist-Elected-Official Jesus cheaters. The next level freaks. The sort of corrupt performative “Christians” whose gravitational pull of awfulness is so bad it collapses in on itself to create a hypocrisy supernova.

I’m talking about South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem and her special side piece former Trump aide Corey Lewandowski. Last Friday the Daily Mail tabloid broke the story that those crazy kids (Noem married 30 years with three kids) and Lewandowski (married father of four) have been doing the horizontal bop since 2019. Neither denied it when asked to comment.

Who cares what goes on in their private lives? They’re politicians. What do you expect?

Well, I honestly wouldn’t care if they bump uglies, except the two of them care very much what goes on in YOUR private life.

Noem has continually defended her state’s abortion ban that makes no exceptions for rape and incest.

She opposes same sex marriage.

And according to the Human Rights Campaign: “Noem signed a law will cause healthcare providers to lose their medical license or other certifications if they administer what is age appropriate, medically necessary, life-saving care to transgender children – care that is supported by every credible medical organization representing over 1.3 million doctors in the United States.”

You see, Kristi Noem is very concerned about your genitals, CN. Where they are, what they’re doing, who they’re doing it with, and if they’re properly gender binary. What gives her the authority to enact such cruel legislation?  JESUS.

Uh Tracy, that Jesus bears absolutely no relation to the Jesus I learned about in Sunday School or in those 70s rock operas.

I’m sorry your interpretation of Jesus Christ is not valid. Are you the governor of South Dakota with a direct line to God? No, then sit down and shut up.

During her 2018 run for governor Noem told South Dakota Public Broadcasting:

“My relationship with the Lord is my foundation in all things. As a result, the values I hold according to biblical principles impact my decisions: we are called to love, but we’re also instructed to stand for truth. I’m hopeful my leadership reflects that.”

It must be biblical principles that made her suck Corey Lewandoski’s face. And um, other appendages. Kristi was called to love.

Cheating is just her way of expressing the sanctity of marriage. Gays can’t have it because:

“she believes marriage is a special bond between a man and a woman.”

And Schmoopies, and randos, and whomever she may have catfished on ChristianMingle.com.

So special!

But Tracy what about her hunky Christo-fascist boyfriend Corey?

Well, it hasn’t been an easy few years for the pencil-headed prankster, Corey. He got kicked off the Trump team in 2021 when he (allegedly) grabbed the wrong pussy. Lesson learned.

But was it? Corey apparently has a history of questionable choices when it comes to his dick.

He has been embroiled in a number of other scandals throughout the years, including, according to the New York Post, accusations that he battered a Breitbart reporter, which were dropped; singer Joy Villa accused him of slapping her backside at a holiday party; he was accused of engaging in a relationship with Trump’s communications director Hope Hicks; and he was accused by the wife of a GOP donor of asking for her hotel room number and making “inappropriate comments about his genitals” to her.

Don’t get handsy with the GOP donors, Corey.

Politico reported in September 2021 of:

…. detailed allegations that Lewandowski had pursued a female donor, Trashelle Odom, during a Sunday evening charity event in Las Vegas. Odom accused Lewandowski of touching her repeatedly, including on her leg and buttocks, talking about his genitalia and sexual performance, and following her throughout the hotel.

Probably wasn’t a good idea to hit on the wife of a guy with deep pockets. The Odoms pressed charges. But alas Lewandowski winkled out of it.

The Odoms’ attorney said in the statement, “Mrs. Odom stated that over the course of the dinner, Mr. Lewandowski tried to hold her hand, and she pushed his hand away. He touched her leg, and she moved it away. He grabbed her napkin off her lap and tried to touch her leg again, and she pulled her dress over her leg, to move his hand away and cover her skin. He touched her back and she tried to get away. He described an area where he was sore from a workout, on the side of his butt, but he demonstrated this by touching her there—on the upper side of her rear end. Lewandowski tried to touch her approximately 10 times, and Mrs. Odom always rebuffed him.”

According to the statement, Odom left the room and Lewandowski followed her, telling her she has a “nice ass” and then “threw his drink” at her. She said it landed on her shoe and dress. The former Trump aide also “called her stupid,” Politico reports. Her attorney said Lewandowski told Trashelle he is “very powerful and can destroy anyone” and that he is close to Trump and can “get anyone elected or can take anyone out.” According to Politico, other attendees at the dinner said Lewandowski appeared to be intoxicated, and a photo reviewed by the news site showed Lewandowski above Odom’s right shoulder with his tongue sticking out.

What a charmer!

Well, when a woman named after garbage won’t have you, Corey, you need to set your sites lower.

Like Kristi Noem lower. Here she is talking about how much the Bible means to her during National Bible Week. This is apparently on the floor of Congress in 2017, when I guess the separation of church and state was broken that day. The point is FAMILY VALUES. And junior Bible quizzes.

She and her husband Bryan spend many warm hours together with the kids quizzing each other on Deuteronomy. When she’s not making out with Corey Lewandowski at political rallies and squiring him about the country for (cough) “work.” Apparently she’s got her boyfriend on her payroll.

Vanity Fair reports:

The Daily Mail claimed it has a long list of receipts including “stays at luxury resorts where their intimacy was observed and noted.” They allegedly took private planes on donors’ dimes, and would disappear frequently. Rumors of their alleged affair surfaced briefly in 2021, via far-right conservative website American Greatness, but Noem issued a strong rebuke of the story. She said it was “total garbage and a disgusting lie,” and she was “proud of the God-fearing family” that she raised with her husband. Lawyers for Lewandowski dismissed the allegations as “rumors.”

Lewandowski became a key adviser to Noem by 2019, and they would travel frequently together. Per the Daily Mail, “In the months leading up to the 2020 election, Noem and Lewandowski became virtually inseparable companions on the Trump campaign trail. By then, their relationship was an open secret at the White House and among high-level GOP lobbyists and political consultants.”

However, after a scandal in which Lewandowski allegedly propositioned a donor’s wife at a Benihana, he was supposedly cut loose from Noem’s team. “Corey was always a volunteer, never paid a dime (campaign or official),” Ian Fury, Noem’s communications director, said in a statement at the time. “He will not be advising the governor in regard to the campaign or official office.” The Daily Mail claimed this was not true. Lewandowski continued working for Noem, and she would, according to a source, “make excuses for his behavior and apologize to staffers for him.”

Can you imagine what that apology looks like? “Okay, so he’s cringey and hits on other women. And he looks like he was extruded from Satan’s letter press. But he’s my paid boyfriend and allowances must be made. He may be a serial cheating, sexually predatory, grifting creep, but at least he’s not a transgender child, rape victim, or a gay person wanting a wedding.”

It’s proof of what you’ve always said, boss – cheating, by definition, includes financial abuses, and often much more. How very fuckin’ banal and pedestrian.

Typical cheater narcissism and sociopathy on display here, which always finds a home in politics but is particularly welcomed in one U.S. political party these days. Among that crowd, cruelty, arrogance, entitlement, deception, and self-aggrandizement are aspirational goals. So depriving vulnerable folks of human rights, and cheating on spouses and families, is just brand extension.

These are trash people with trash values living trash lives. Divorce them, vote them out of office, speak the truth about them: Make Consequences Great Again. Or as the great Kinky Friedman said, “Fuck ‘em and feed ‘em Froot-Loops.”

If deceit, moral corruption, power grabs and the omnipotent abusive traits of these malignant narcissists were limited to only one political party, Nomar, it would make it exceptionally easy to vote.
That, sadly, is far from the truth of it.
In fact, it seems to me, politics attracts these abusive manipulators at a similar rate to churches attracting pedophiles. The abuses of the world done in the name of God through the centuries have been the very worst crimes committed on all of humanity. The irony of that is very difficult to digest.
This Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski scandal is no shocker to any chump on this site. Another tragic saga of two overinflated entitled “ I’m better than anyone else on the planet and deserve special treatment” losers getting called out. Who want to use their evil powers to make everyone else follow all the rules they create and they get to do whatever the hell they want. They are larger than any rules. It’s a common theme of our times.
God favors them, don’t you know, the chosen elite. “ Thou shalt not commit adultery” excludes God’s extraordinary children. Only the little ppl have to display moral integrity and decency.
So, just ‘do as I say and not as I do’ and no one will get hurt.
How come all this stuff makes my chest feel so tight, I’m actually going to throw one of those heat beany pads in my microwave to warm my heart back up.
I’m really feeling for Corey’s wife, Alison through this ordeal. Four really young kids and she’s a 911 widow besides. Man, she’s had an excessive level of trauma dumped on her life! I hope she has a lot of support to get her through this. And I sure wish we could bring her over to Chump nation.
And the governor’s husband, who has probably already been doing the power lifting with the three kids they share and wondering why no matter what he’s done, he’s made to feel inadequate in his holier than thou wife’s eyes. Running on that hamster wheel to make her happy, which has gotten him as far as that hamster wheel has taken him. He must be exhausted dealing with her dark energy.
At least they can both get free of the unseen abuses they have been experiencing. That’s the silver lining for them, that they don’t see yet.
I hope they don’t try to hold onto these sociopaths thru the RIC mind fuck, money sucking tunnel to nowhere good.
It has to be a million times worse, enduring this all under the public scrutiny umbrella. I can’t even imagine how awful that would be.
I’m day dreaming right now about having brightly colored postcards from Chump Lady that get mailed to every hurting chump in the world. That an owl would deliver right into their hands so they have to get it and act on it. ( can you tell I’m rereading the Harry Potter series on Audible right now?! Even better the second time, lol. )
It could help them steer clear of all the Esther level BS they will stumble upon in their vulnerable states, that is way too rampant online.
I just hope they divorce these asses and let them have each other, the karma that will keep on giving.

I really enjoyed OHFFS line today:
“Seriously though, these two people are the absolute scum of the earth. They make me wish I believed in hell, just so I could hope they’ll fry in it.”

I want to second that notion. But they are basically already living in that hell. The hell of never getting clear of their own toxic contradictions and the destructive negativity they dump on the world. That’s it’s own hell.

I second your feelings about this – when I read about behavior like this – I see red I think I actually see RED…it enrages me. It’s bad enough when you see it in people we know privately but when you see it modeled in public by people who have NO SHAME or respect for anyone…..it’s just enraging. I too, feel for Mrs. Lewandowski and Mr. Noem…..I haven’t heard much about Mrs. L….I don’t know how she puts up with that creep, and that IS what he IS…..aside again from any politics, Corey Lewandowski is a CREEP…..and it says volumes about prissy missy Kristi Noem who really acts like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth but I bet a lot of other substances would. Mrs. L and Mr. N should both get care packages from CHUMP NATION…in fact that should be a cottage industry. The first item would be Tracey’s book LACGAL! I hope they both find their inner mightiest along with Lauren Boebert’s chumped husband. This behavior is shameful and needs to be STIGMATIZED AND SHUNNED.

During the awful, horrible, no-good wreckonciliation period, FW’s ho-worker requested a meeting with me. She wanted to ✨apologize✨ and tell me about her ✨relationship with Jesus✨

What a week for sanctimonious politicians! The whole Lauren Boebert thing is just as bad – did you all see the security video footage of her getting kicked out of a theater in Denver for “falling short of her values?” https://youtu.be/UMgTuc2wl6U?si=eh7lQ859gN1E6ALT

I think the press is the big problem. They should be reporting on this kind of behavior from these people from the start – for both the Left and Right, GOP and Dems – this is not a political issue to me (although I certainly get the hypocrisy angle). But many people in the press act like this too….it’s just a general moral decline and lack of honesty and honor. But if the press started reporting this more – and I’m really glad they did highlight these stories – maybe things would start to improve. Most people are revolted by this behavior.

yes it is a “both sides” issue- but voters need to pay attention to how their party reacts- do the party leaders protect and double down on their support for accused rapists, etc or do they get them out of office a la Gov Cuomo?
I am so fatigued at the “little people” (not politically important) that I love getting their lives shit on- via a lack of health care, equal rights etc while the “big players” get away with everything.
To be chumped is to have our rose colored glasses shattered, we need to speak up about injustices.

And for some reason people believe me, so I have power. Really, the power is the point. I really couldn’t care less about God and his stupid rules. But he gets me power. Which I will keep at all cost.

No, I don’t really care about babies, poor kids, the elderly. Heck I don’t even think outdoor workers should be allowed water breaks in summer.

I don’t think most of these people even give a damn about abortion. If more were consistent in protecting the unborn by addressing huge rates of pregnancy loss due to pollution or DV, poverty, etc., or addressing factors that increase unwanted pregnancies (rape, DV, lack of hope related to ed/economic opportunities for young women), I might think the issue was more than just a political football. I may not agree but I could at least respect the position as ideologically consistent.

I think you misspelled “was caught raping children” because that’s what “screwing underage girls” really means. He was raping children who could not legal, morally, or cognitively consent to sexual activity. I know you’re outraged too, but I think preciseness in language around rape is really important.

Well said. I agree with precision in language. I once saw a very funny (in a ha-ha-shriek-moan way) Youtube video in which the word “Hebophilia” (basically “attraction to post-adolescents”) was repeatedly spelled out on the screen but the robotic voice-over kept carefully enunciating “Ped-o-phil-ia.” Point taken. Hebophilia is just an awkward modern coinage intended to make pedophiles feel less heinous. So I say, nope. Let’s regard minors as “children” and those who predate on them as heinous pedophiles. It’s all about clarity in language, folks.

When the ugly truth is revealed, the GOP base doubles down on donations. And the rest of America yawns.

This lying, above-the-law, blame shifting behavior has real impact on women, children, health care providers, school districts, law enforcement, etc.

Why does this matter to chumps? Because we know enough to say “the Emperor has no clothes”. We can use our voices at church, at schoolboard meetings and in the voting booth.

When I was growing up in New York there was a not-so-funny joke about the Mafia that said, “so long as members went to Church on Sunday and also went to Confession they could do whatever they want during the rest of the week because Jesus forgives them for their sins.” That is the same rational used in the bible-belt by evangelicals and by southern baptists, etc. That’s how a person can rape women, brag about assaulting women because of his wealth, cheat on all of his wives even when they are pregnant and giving birth, say terrible things about veterans and war heroes, equate his battles against venereal disease to combat in Vietnam AND still have support from the bible-thumpers. As long as these dweebs claim Jesus in their hearts they are forgiven for being the shit-people they are by equally morally corrupt shit-people who claim personal ownership of the bible. It’s beyond hypocrisy and reminds me of a quote attributed to Molly Ivins: “the people who commit the greatest irony are people who do not believe in irony.”

Molly Ivins also said: “What stuns me most about contemporary politics is not even that the system has been so badly corrupted by money. It is that so few people get the connection between their lives and what the bozos do in Washington and our state capitols.”

I’m also from NY and lived in a few mafia neighborhoods as a tyke because my parents were starving (agnostic) artists back then and rents were cheaper. I only remember the stereotypical mob wives and grannies with the ravaged complexions, heavy makeup and curlers. They scared the crap out of me even though these women were probably the best neighborhood watch in the world. I couldn’t wander even a few doors away without being escorted back home, something my mother appreciated though it depressed my dad that the wives were “all punching bags.” He witnessed similar hypocrisy in his own NYC Irish Catholic background and couldn’t wait to get away from the whole dynamic. I wonder if that’s the thing I picked up on that scared me as a little kid.

This is true unfortunately and is how many Christians regard their religion…..as long as you go to church on Sunday and make some kind of fake confession….you have a permanent get out of jail pass. That’s not what Christ said or how he acted but it’s how the churches have characterized this. It’s why I always thought the worst people were in churches…..because they need it more than anybody else.

Yep. My father was a leader in the Lutheran Church I was raised in. He’d work all week, spending time after the day’s job was done in the bar, and Saturday night with his girlfriend(s), but he’d be washed clean again by Sunday afternoon. Such a fine, upstanding example of a Christian leader.

I gave up Christianity long ago because of this and the many other hypocrisies and evil done under the name of religion.

I am going to search for anything you have written about other politicians. I don’t like either of the ones you referenced here but with clintons, bidens, and other epstein enablers cheating on there spouses and raping women without consequences, there should be several. What exactly do you mean by life saving transgender child appropriate treatment? Other than mental health treatment, what does a child need if they have only a single set of genitalia that is male or female?

I’m not buying it either, Eric. Tracy does call out the politicians on her side, but she’s pretty vicious to those on the right.
I find it interesting that this “news” comes out after Noem emphatically endorses a presidential candidate. We can’t have that!
Sending abortion rights back to the states (federalism), getting mental healthcare for suffering children before they permanently alter their bodies evidently are sins that can’t be forgiven. Therefore, everyone on the right must be attacked. I don’t like it either.
My FW was a raging leftie. Until pulling that lever for another leftie that happened to have different skin color than his. His party went too far on that one (he was the most racist SOB on God’s green earth — he hid that from me when we were courting).

Speaking of which, are there any current presidential hopefuls on either side who aren’t trailed by some degree of pervy buzz?

Who? Noem? Trump? Genuinely asking.

I don’t believe there is any particular timing to this story, or rather there would be no time to release it that would be deemed appropriate by her supporters. Her endorsement of Trump is not a surprise in any way, so I don’t see why it would be necessary to counteract that endorsement with a negative story.

There seem to be quite a lot of witnesses to its veracity.

Making a donation for a party based on rejecting the party your ex FW voted for is pretty weird, if that’s what you’re saying. If you’re a right-winger who supports legislating control of other people’s bodies, who not just own it without the excuses about your ex?

Canadian who reads an extraordinary amount of US news, here.

Everything we, as Chumps, have learned about infidelity is on full display in the Republican party. Your country is being gaslit on a daily (hourly!?!) basis. At least 75 million people (i.e. Trump voters) are living with a crippling level of cognitive dissonance and applying the “sunk cost” formula to their choices at the ballot box. They are being financially defrauded while propping up the lifestyle of the people who would – no, will – discard them in a heartbeat! There are many more parallels but, I’m probably preaching to the choir.

Sure, there are Democrats that are part of the same sleazy mind set that have gotten away with shit as well as a gaggle of Canadian politicians with the same low standard of integrity. But, if we look at who is actually standing up for human rights and a path to democracy, there can be no doubt about what is happening and what needs to be done: consequences.

As to the big two American political parties, “A plague on both your houses,” to coin a phrase. I’ve long since given up on finding admirable personalities to support; I look only at supported/enacted policies, not life styles, when making voting decisions. We basically have a uni-party, and non-elected administrators run the show anyway. Sad times in the USA

I agree, Grandma, I’m also revolted by both parties – packed full of grifters and degenerates. We could make lists of them on both sides but the real problem to me is that, while we can disagree on how to solve problems or what the best solutions are, we should have basic consensus on how decent people should behave and treat their families and the public. We don’t. I also agree that it is a uni-party and its whole purpose is to make money off endless war and conflict. That’s probably as far as I want to go with a political statement because once you go down that road……lions, tigers and bears roam about.

I don’t understand this “Jesus” cheater mantra here – or because the parties are Republican it makes their infidelity “worse”. So if someone is an atheist Democrat and supports gay, transgender, abortion their infidelity is “not as bad”? Isn’t it about character and integrity and the promise you made to your partner no matter what your religion, political affiliation, race, gender etc.

Never heard of them before. This is so cringe! So gross.

Hypocrisy is one of things that really, really annoys God…. but do they care? Nope. Betraying their committed, loyal spouses? No biggie; hey that’s just collateral damage.

Their actions show their true philosophy is the exact opposite of the Golden Rule. They appear to be operating in the philosophy of “Do whatever you want!” The sad irony of bullshit churchianity.

The one and only unifying factor that all cheaters have, by definition, is that they believe in the principle “rules for thee but not for me”.

The particular rules are different in every case, of course (there are all kinds of people here!). Today’s example is just one special case of this. I guess it’s dramatic because the “rules for thee” part extends not just to their partners but to a substantial portion of the US, but that’s more a quantitative than a qualitative difference.

As I wrote earlier, I find FWittery just as gross if not more threatening when it’s on my own side of the aisle. I actually knew a faux-feminist wife beater who worked for a major leftist social justice candidate. So depressing. I keep googling “Jeremy Corbyn + sex scandal” in the hopes of not finding any news along those lines. I’d like to reserve a little respect for at least one political figure in my lifetime.

In 2021, my two kids and I (24 & 22 at the time) embarked on an epic road trip from Chicago to the Olympic Peninsula, visiting as many National Parks along the way we could manage. Our journey took us through the entire length of South Dakota, including a trip to the Corn Palace! Anyway, from the minute we hit the state line, we heard a constant barage of radio ads regarding the overwhelming passage of a recent law legalizing marijuana. It was Kristi Noem basically saying, “I know everyone in the state voted to legalize marijuana, but I’m the only one who knows what you want and I’m not going to implement the law because that’s not good for you and I will impose my moral authority becasue I can”. We literally laughed everytime the ad came on, which was frequently. That was a good thing, because that state can get very boring, so we had a lot of wonderful political discussions, especially as to hypocrisy. So when this came out, my son & I weren’t surprised at all!

I’m really sad for Corey’s wife. Maybe she’s an awful person too, who knows, but so many people know what it’s like to be psychologically abused and controlled by a bully, which I think CL is, especially with several children. It’s like being a Sister Wife or some grisly mindset like that….I hope she finds her inner mightiness and fights back. I wish we could send her and Noem’s husband this site. They need it.

OT;
Just wanted to share this bit of RIC drivel I found from a therapist who does the dreaded “affair recovery” con.

“1. How can my partner claim to love me and yet hurt me so badly?

How can those two things be true at the same time?

Most hurt partners can’t reconcile this in their minds. Thus, they feel forced to conclude that their unfaithful partner must not have loved them. Consequently, healing feels unreachable. ”

and;
“while betrayal feels like a contradiction, it is entirely possible that the betrayed partner is still loved. The unfaithful partner can feasibly love them and still hurt them. Healing, she asserts, comes from a place where you can accept that things you never thought could coexist. Feeling love is one, and acting in a way that protects that love is something else.”

IOW, you must resolve the cognitive dissonance by lying to yourself in order to heal. You must accept that love is just a feeling that does not require loving action as evidence it exists. People don’t actually act on their loving feelings towards their spouses. They only act on their loving feelings towards schmoopies. 💩

It goes on at length, insisting that it is an error in thinking to believe a grotesque, humiliating betrayal is evidence that we are not loved.

https://iditsharoni.com/79-how-can-someone-who-loves-me-betray-me/

The therapist claims to be Perel trained and quotes Perel, even saying; “Perel is right.” I also noticed that her first name is missing an o.

Who hasn’t Corey Lweandowski been with? I had to double-check that I hadn’t slept with him. He really gets around. I hope that his wife summons the strength to leave him at some point. He’s been making a fool of her for years and clearly has no remorse.

Please stop with the Incel/4Chan/porn/FW-speak (“cucked” and beta). Those terms have a heinous etymology (I almost wrote “etiology” but that wouldn’t have been far off the mark either: https://www.gq.com/story/why-angry-white-men-love-calling-people-cucks ). I know nothing about Bryon Noem but don’t buy the idea that male chumps are all pussies any more than I believe all she-chumps are all sexless drudges and harpies. To rapey knuckle-dragging apes and the prison groupie types of women who worship them, any decent, honest guy is a “betacuck” even though it takes a lot more strength to have character than it does to be a scammy abusive manbaby.

My fw cheated on me for at least three years. When he confessed he said he had been “dating” for ten years. I didn’t know, I was not blind to his faults; but I thought we had worked together to build a strong bond. Turned out, I was the only one bonded, but I didn’t know. Not because I was stupid but because I was really busy supporting his career, raising a child and yes enjoying frequent sex and time with my husband. How would I know.

He had a lot of folks fooled, of that I have no doubt. Did some folks know? Likely but they didn’t tell me, nor did they tell anyone else who told me. I don’t think even his closes two friends knew. They were gobsmacked. Given the situation and how it played out, I am sure of it.

Today’s post meshes with a running conversation I’ve been having with a friend lately about sex and political power (and movies). One of the things we’ve been discussing is a rising star in international film these days, the Chilean writer-director Pablo Larrain whose films I’d recommend to anyone interested in the curious intersection between political abuse of power and sexual abuse. Larrain also seems to include an underlying sub-theme in which sexual violence always has a core of wormy, infantile “masked dependence” within it which could be of interest to CN. Almost all of his films have either touched or focused on that combined theme which I think– in Larrain’s telling– goes a long way towards explaining why violent political authoritarianism not only survives but often thrives following terrible sex scandals– because it appeals to a rapey ape base. In other words, I don’t think this recent sleazy scandal is really going to dent the careers of Noem and Lewandowski by much, not unless they present other problems for the money and corporate power behind them.

Back to Larrain, it would be hard to explain how that theme is spelled out in Larrain’s films without giving spoilers, but it’s definitely the theme in his first experimental film, Fugue, about a famous composer who incrementally goes mad after witnessing a rape and murder as a child within the context of the Chilean military dictatorship which, aside from being infamous for its core misogyny (Pinochet claimed to be fighting the “emasculation” of Chile and borrowed Franco’s “red gene” theory for “feminine political psychopathy”) and use of sexual violence (https://sfonline.barnard.edu/ps/printjra.htm), is the icon and symbol of the main groups behind the Capitol riot (https://theintercept.com/2021/02/04/pinochet-far-right-hoppean-snake/). Then there’s Post Mortem which is also set in the context of Pinochet’s coup which could be seen as an illustration why certain “regular Joes” end up supporting authoritarian regimes despite having so much to lose by doing so: because authoritarianism creates the most fertile conditions that give covertly rapey regular Joes free reign to exercise sexual dominance and violence. In the film “No” about actual events surrounding the 1988 plebiscite to oust Pinochet from power, Larrain throws in strong hints about how an activist adman who leads the campaign to oust Pinochet goes through a personal journey in which he’s forced to grapple with his own covert sexual dominance/dependence issues in order to finally succeed in his political aims, suggesting the country was undergoing the same struggle. I haven’t seen it yet so don’t know if Larrain’s latest film El Conde– apparently a gruesome black comedy about Pinochet as an ancient vampire– is going to play on the same theme though vampirism carries pretty obvious rape symbolism.

I may be a flaming feminist but recognize that the majority of men aren’t rapists, even covertly. As the mother of sons, it worries me that men are the most common victims of violent men (men kill men at eight times the rate they kill women) so the issue of sexual dominance and the violence it frequently drives are hardly solely “women’s issues.” I’m also a flaming lefty but recognize that authoritarianism doesn’t necessarily have to be right wing. Historically, it’s come in “lefty” flavors, except that, at least in the west, the left doesn’t happen to be in an openly authoritarian phase at the moment (if anything, a sneaky one). The wheels of history are always turning and we could see a rise of left wing totalitarianism again in the west– you never know– and would get to see how no form of authoritarianism is ever groovy or good for women. But, for now, though there are plenty of creeps on the left, because the left is currently locked into its alignment with all things groovy and equality-y, lefty pervs can’t exactly lead with that trait or campaign on an “abuse of sexual power” platform and thus fail to attract the rapey ape vote which really has no party affiliation or political ideology beyond apey rapery and the power imbalance that facilitates it. Right now the radical right happens to be appealing to that small but maniacally energized faction because it keeps putting forward barely concealed rapists as candidates which promise– in not so many words– to usher in a freak paradise where freaks can finally let their freak flags fly high and proud. The left could be putting forward creep candidates as well but it’s just better concealed according to current fashions.

I’m also not saying there’s no escape from rapey apes in power. One way to ensure no one like that rises to office is to more consistently enforce against sexual abuse and to ban candidates with marks like this on their records. Rape clearly isn’t a value among genuinely traditional conservatives nor traditional liberals but I think (and so does Larrain apparently) that it may be the core of political extremism like totalitarian or religious authoritarianism, which is arguably just a bid to return to the feudalism of our ape ancestors (in which most sex is pretty much rape). In short, unless the left in the US swings towards a totalitarian form, they’re never going to attract the rapey ape faction lurking among us and will always be at a disadvantage in terms of manically energized mobilization. Remember that Hitler came to power with only 12% of public support but it was a wildly energetic 12%. Pablo Larrain has an interesting theory about why that is which happens to mesh with social research showing that “support for authoritarianism” (and all sorts of other ugly things like racism, ageism, sexism, etc.) has very strong associations with something called “rape myth acceptance.”

Anyway, again I don’t think these slimy scandals are going to do much damage to certain political figures, at least not to the ones stumping for authoritarianism. Even if the rapey ape faction is essentially misogynistic and should theoretically punish women who attempt to commit “male” offenses or wield traditionally male power, Noem still might be given a pass for it because she so faithfully serves all other radical patriarchal platforms. According to evolutionary ape research, among chimps Noem would probably be designated as one of the token females who are given temporary partial exemption from subordinate female roles when they tag along on chimp “lethal raids” because these types of females are willing to bite off ears and kill rivals with extra gusto.

So there’s my high fallutin’ theory of why these creeps seem to thrive– because creepery is a dog whistle to the eternal creep base among us. If we want to solve certain political problems, we’re going to have to address the larger FW problem and all issues related to sexual consent, exploitation, abuse and violence in society which is very tricky to do in a democratic manner.

I’ve made it clear I am a senior. In fact, today is my birthday, and I think I might have reached the Era of the Crone! So, my age and experience are reflected in my beliefs. I try to never talk about religion or politics in public. I live in an area controlled by a political party that does not reflect my values. I am an Independent, but when it comes time to vote I cannot bear to vote for the dominant party. I know they will win local elections, and usually state elections, but sometimes they don’t win national elections. Some of their public statements actually embarrass me, and I hope other people know that everyone in my state is not that stupid. I do not have a strong belief in the other party either, but if I have to choose between two parties, I generally vote for The Other party.

I have a problem with all politicians. Some of the issues I have are because of the “sound bite” mentality. I would prefer an honest argument about conflicting values which would have to conform to the facts. We are capable of almost instantaneous fact checking these days. When they lie, or misstate the truth, I would love for a loud buzzer to go off to interrupt their flow. If they get loud and bully, I think they should be escorted off the stage. My news feeds consistently carry information about the most idiotic political players — I think these players are media whores and love any attention! Don’t give them attention, they might shrivel up and die?

To me the only way a government makes sense is with a division of powers, and a set of rules designed to protect the majority of the population from harm. Everyone should abide by the rules, even if they don’t personally like them. For instance, if you live in a city with good public transport, highways and the other transportation issues may seem unnecessary to you, and you might not want to spend your tax dollars on those things. But the majority of this country has open country and poor public transportation. For the majority, spend tax dollars on our infrastructure before it crumbles and fails. It’s not a sexy topic, but it is important. Why can’t both parties agree on this? Sexual orientation or preferences have nothing to do with good transportation facilities.

With regard to sexual/political/religious issues — I have to say that during my lifetime I have known people of all sexes, many colors, many differing religious beliefs and practices, but none of them have actually harmed my life in any way. As long as people are willing to tolerate living with other people who may have different beliefs and practices, but all are willing to respect the other, there is no conflict. It is only a problem when one segment tries to impose its belief system on another that problems arise.

I attended both private and public education institutions. I’ve worked for both private and public education institutions. Personally, I am non-denominational. I have a fair amount of knowledge about Christian beliefs, and the scripture they are based on. Most denominations I am familiar with use the Bible as a pick and choose quote source, pulling stories out of context and ignoring stories they don’t “like” because they do not reflect their viewpoint. Here is what I believe: When we received the 10 commandments about how to live our lives, none of them talk about sexual orientation or variations. Notably, adultery is specifically mentioned. There are no qualifiers. For instance, we are told to honor our father and mother, and there is no mention of what to do if your parent is evil and harmful. I think we are supposed to figure out what to do with the circumstances at hand. That is why humans have brains. For the majority, it is a good idea to honor your parents (family) but sometimes you may have to do it from afar. I have family afflicted with mental illness. I love them from a distance so they cannot hurt me. I am still biologically related, and don’t want people to make disparaging remarks about my family. I’ve also noticed many people who profess to be Christian have little to no information about what Christ actually said and did according to the Bible (I’m talking generically here; I know there are several versions).

When someone has the audacity to tell me how to live my life, which values to believe, and which practices to follow, I am going to be angry. When it turns out they are not living the lifestyle they want me to live, it makes me even angrier. I don’t care which party they represent. Those folks who want to be in charge of my personal life are wrong as far as I am concerned. I am the one who makes choices and lives with the consequences of my choices. Their professed beliefs are NONE of my concern. I really wish politicians would stop Trash Talking and pointing the finger, and actually sit down and get something accomplished. Neither party wins anything when there is a constant struggle for the power to impose their will on the other. There are many things that need to be done in this country, for the good of the majority of the people. I would love to see more attention to cleaning up the environmental problems we have, and less on worrying about drag queens or what genitalia we each possess, or what we are doing with said genitalia. Personally, I don’t want to be escorted to an interrogation facility by the Sex Police and have to show or tell anything about my body or my sex life, because I believe it is none of anyone’s business. These fools need to shut up and sit down, and most importantly, get out of politics. Neither party should want you in office if you are an idiot and an embarrassment.

Happy Birthday, Portia!

Geez, my birthday was yesterday and in the past few days weirdly I have run into a lot of people whose birthday was the 16th, the 17th (mine) and today the 18th. On Sunday I was on a sprinkle donut mission for Little Hammer and had to go to two grocery stores. At both, I was in line next to someone who was celebrating a 9/17 birthday. Virgos everywhere! 😜

Allegedly I am an Adams descendant. (John and John Quincy). I am independent and have always voted for character as best I can. There are liars, cheaters, thieves, criminals, and sexual predators, etc. in every group or demographic. I rewatched Tar the other day, which I remember raised hackles with some because the sexually predatory main character was a lesbian, as if there could be no such thing as a sexually predatory lesbian and a movie about one sexually predatory lesbian meant that all lesbians are sexual predators. The movie was about Lydia Tar as far as I could tell, and not a treatise on lesbians in general.

My goal is to walk my talk. I hope to find that in others, especially those in leadership positions, and am especially upset when hypocrites of any stripe have legislative power.

Unlike a lot of people, I don’t ascribe to the “what they do in their personal
life is none of my business” compartmentalizing. As I see it, what someone does in their personal life has everything to do with their public life, informs their decisions, and is the accurate indicator of character. I’m very concerned with what someone does in their private life, especially when a private life is a secret sexual double life which contradicts the public life.

Isn’t character supposed to be determined by what we do when we think no one is looking? That is definitely on my mind at the voting booth.

I stayed for ten days in the Chase House in Cornish, New Hampshire, where Salmon P. Chase, one of the founders of the Republican Party was born. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican Party presidential candidate, which these days is honestly is hard for me to believe.

When is Keanu Reeves running for office?

Please, no flaming poison arrow responses. I’m feeling fragile these days.

I recently found that many of my music buddies are Virgo’s, too! I don’t know if there wasn’t much for our parents to do on cold December and January nights, or if there is some other connecting factor?

Political parties and their points of view have always interested me. The Republicans and Democrats have expressed different agendas at different times in their histories, so sometimes it is confusing. I doubt Abraham Lincoln would have found much in common with most of the GOP bigwigs of today. I am always bothered by hypocrites. I really don’t want to know about the personal lives of artists, entertainers, or politicians if I can avoid it. Not because it’s not my business, but because I do not want a work of art, or a song, or a play, or book, or even a reasonably good political idea to be ruined for me by knowing about the disgusting nature of its originator. I selfishly want to enjoy what brings me joy, without learning anything I consider good was meant in a sarcastic way or was created to fool the masses into thinking or believing a certain way. That is too cynical for me.

For our political system to work, the parties need to find a way to compromise on issues for the good of the nation instead of seeking to decimate their political rivals. Usually when stories like this one surface, it discourages another person from believing there is any hope for our future. We have to learn to differentiate between the slimy individual and the entire political party, or even the entire political system. All religions are not evil because some of the people who work in religious institutions are evil. All politicians are human (?) but individual human failures cannot be blamed for an entire party’s political missteps. We need to find a way to effectively police our own social structures to discourage bad actors from taking up residence and ruining it for the rest of us.

Oh VH! Actors are drawn into politics like moths to the flame. They may have a limited future in the number of productions they can be in as an acting career, but if they can get into politics they can go on for years, and years, and years! No term limits, and a generous health and retirement plan! What an enticement!

Happy Birthday, portia. Welcome to crone-hood. I, too, speak as an old crone.

My take on all this: It’s the hypocrisy of selling your political party as being morally superior … and on the side, you’re chumping your spouse. It’s the hypocrisy of selling yourself as belonging to a religion that specifies “Thou shalt not commit adultery” and “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor” and then you just treat it all like it’s all window dressing.

I learn more by listening than by talking, and when people start telling me what their religious beliefs do for them, I listen. Very often, they choose their religion because “it makes me a better person than I would otherwise have been.” But sometimes it’s because “it makes me a better person than you.”

Not every politician is the second kind (or pandering to the second kind). Mike Pence might possibly be the first kind. Jimmy Carter certainly is. But, I’m wary of the politician who’s the second kind.

I’m a practising Roman Catholic, so I believe in and strive to keep all the Commandments as best I can. I’m pro-life, pro-natural marriage and the traditional teachings of the R.C. Church!
Funnily enough, I’m also very pro being FAITHFUL to one’s spouse, because it hurts and harms them when one isn’t and because it’s one of the Commandments- 6th one in our denomination! I’m pro- being truthful, trustworthy and having integrity, especially when it comes to vows I’ve made and all the more so if I’ve made them to God as well as another human being!
Two of the things God hates are a lying tongue and feet that run swiftly to evil! I think you have to have both if you’re an adulterer!
Also, I can think of only 2 things that made Jesus really angry. One was the desecration of the Temple by the money-changers. The other was the hypocrisy of the Pharisees!
The hypocrisy of these two is off the charts really, isn’t it!
It reminds me of Sue’s mother in the British film “Rita, Sue and Bob Too!” about Sue’s father, which I’ll paraphrase; “Take no notice o’ them, they’re always tellin’ folk what to do and they don’t do it their sen’s!”

This article isn’t about polticians of one political party or another. This article is about 2 shitty people who throw stones (pass judgement on others by advocating laws to govern us all) while living in glass houses (where they themselves commit the sins they advocate against hoping they won’t get caught).

I’d like to repeat what Molly Ivins said: “What stuns me most about contemporary politics is not even that the system has been so badly corrupted by money [‘I will add religion’]. It is that so few people get the connection between their lives and what the bozos do in Washington and our state capitols.”

Who goes into politics these days?
Anyone care to answer?
Yes that is right…Narcissists!
The days of statesmen working for the good of the republic are gone. The majority of politicians are for themselves. So it is not surprising that they cheat.

Bill Gurley speaking at the All-In summit explained how our government works. I will include the link below. It is eye opening.
Sadly, on a shallow note, I found Noem to be attractive, but not anymore. What and FW and the only thing that makes it worse is that it was with that dork

This could be true, maybe they have been having an affair. However, publishing a smear based on five anonymous sources, no evidence, the day after she announced for Trump makes me a bit suspect. Has hit job written all over. I don’t care about Trump, but this kind of stuff infuriates me, and women are often the victims. It is also my understanding that Noem’s spokesperson has made a statement that it’s not true. That being said the Daily Mail leans right, so I would gather this hit job came from inside the republican party. This would not be a first time this tactic has been used to politically undermine someone.

How is this a “smear” campaign? If anything, since she is vying for the VP spot w/ Trump, it would be an asset. We are talking about the man who said “grab ’em by the p!$$y” and was good friends with Epstein.

Plus, as someone who grew up in the evangelical baptist church, most of them LOVE a good “redemption” story. Mary Magdalene and all that…

Genuine question — why would it be necessary to offset her endorsement of Trump with a negative story? I sincerely don’t understand the logic. Everyone knew she was in favor of Trump, so her endorsement is rather a non-story. Why would it need to be counter-acted?

OMG, thank you for covering this. I don’t want to be political here because that’s not my point but there is SO MUCH TRASH out there in politics and I can’t stand these people, unfortunately most of them seem on the Right (unfortunate for the Right) – they all seem to be Jesus Cheaters: Kristi Noem and Lewandowski, Lauren Boebert of Colorado and whatever Neanderthal she’s porking, Marjorie Taylor Greene who cheated repeatedly on her husband, and Nikki Haley who apparently has had several extra-marital affairs. Again…I find this loathsome if it’s Bill Clinton or someone like that, it’s the behavior I hate. But being a Jesus Cheater makes it so much worse, the sheer hypocrisy makes me want to barf. Just to focus on the behavior for a moment of Noem and Boebert, who are in spotlight right now:

Noem is still married and apparently her husband, we need to send him a Chump care package, moved out of the house a couple of years ago. This crap with the epicly gross Lewandowski has been going on for a LOOOOONG time and the press should cover it. The press SHOULD tell us when people are publicly cheating. I WANT TO KNOW. If they would cheat, lie, deceive, manipulate, hurt their own spouses and families – they will do it to US too. There is no private morals and public morals – it is the SAME set of morals, you’re just hiding it in different ways. I hope Mr. Noem finds his own mightiness and files for divorce. The idea that Trump might pick this bag for a VP repels me. BTW, Kamala Harris, who slept her own way up the ladder especially with married Willie Brown, ALSO repels me. I’ve seen this behavior in places I’ve worked in where women got ahead by sleeping with various reptiles and it always enraged me especially as I worked 10 hours+ days while caring for elderly relatives. AAARGGGGHHHHH……I HATE these people.

Lauren Boebert, a Congresswhore from Colorado, was filmed in a public theater at a musical version of Beetlejuice, vaping in front of a pregnant woman, who asked her to stop and was then insulted by LB. LB was getting her boobs publicly felt up by her Neanderthal of the night….whom it looks like she left her husband for – while she was groping his groin – IN PUBLIC ON CAMERA. I’ve seen it. And she was yelling and singing and making a nuisance of herself and then when they rightfully threw this whore out….she came up with the classic “Do you know WHO I AM?” AAARGGGHHH!!!!! Yeah, I know….you’re a 51 year old bimbo trying to take advantage of the MAGA people by pretending to believe in stuff you personally obviously have NO belief in because you’re a POS just like so many of these Congresswhores. And then she LIES in her public apology!!! She should be forced out of office along with Noem, and all the rest of these degenerates.

Sorry for the rant but I cannot stand these people whether are on the Left or the Right. Robert Kennedy, whom I actually like politically, apparently drove his first wife to suicide with all his affairs. We have to start taking this kind of behavior seriously because our political class looks like it reflects our society’s general lack of family morals. We have to stop making excuses, or winking at this classless and destructive behavior. We need to start advocating openly for honesty, for loyalty, for decency, for protecting families – in public and private – and not to look the other way just because we may support someone’s alleged political beliefs, which are mostly their opportunism, greed for grift, and frequently substance abuse. These people are supposed to have serious jobs, handling enormous issues and sums of money, and they should not be acting like horny drunken arrogant 14 year olds. I have HAD it with this kind of behavior and I don’t give a damn if people think I’m a prude or a crank or whatever label they want to put on the “party poopers”. I want people who act like they give a damn privately and publicly and have some self respect and respect for others – especially their own FAMILIES!

I no longer subscribe at all to the “he’s/she’s a politician, what do you expect from them” type of view. I gave Clinton a pass, and I deeply regret it. He turned out to be a sexual harasser at the very least, and maybe a pedophile, hanging around Jeffrey Epstein.

The FW XW is a low level politician who aspires to bigger things. I’m sorry, but too many of them are like her: narcissistic, wrongfully self-entitled scum.

If I find out someone fucks around/cheats and is a politician? No fucking way am I for you or voting for you. That shitty character is a red flag. No more excuses for politicians.

I’ve worked in governmental affairs (campaign worker, legislative aide and now a lobbyist) for over 25 years. I grew up around one party and then was recruited after college to work for another, and now I work with and know lawmakers and staff on both sides of the aisle. Infidelity is truly a bi-partisan issue. In the Republican party, you have the bible thumping hypocritical Jesus cheaters and in the Democratic party, the “women’s rights, pro-equality” cheaters who have no problem abusing their wives through infidelity, taking advantage of young female staffers, or looking away when they see abuse towards women happening via infidelity elsewhere. Personally, I do care if my elected officials are cheating in their marriages, because if they can’t honor their marriage vows/family, do they really care about the run of the mill electorate?

On a side note, a few years ago, the company I work for hired Dirtbag Lewandowski to be their keynote speaker at a legislative conference. I refused to attend. However, I was milling about the hotel that evening chatting with colleagues and saw him walk out of the ballroom and walk right over to one of my co-workers (cute, young and blonde), flirt with her and make a comment about “what’s next, wanna head for a drink.” My co-worker responded back, “oh i don’t think your wife would like that!” He sort of half smiled and sauntered away. You can tell just by looking at this guy that he’s a total sleeze. Hope his wife finds CL, leaves and gains a life. (same for Gov Noem’s husband).

Corey Lewandowski is such a notorious and obvious sleazebag from the far borders of Hell, I am amazed that any woman takes him up on his shit. I have to wonder what Kristi Noem sees in this slug. It makes me think of that whole topic of cheating down. Same with Lauren Boebert’s choice of Neanderthal. They look like STD factories to me.

I’ve been following politics since I was a little kid and that’s going back nearly 60 years. Yeah…..I’m that weird. I absolutely agree with you. I can make a list from both Dems & Repubs, Libs & Cons, of all the same kinds of disgusting behavior whether it’s cheating or harassment, THEY BOTH DO IT. And they do a LOT of it. I can understand CL’s point about the hypocrisy because if you’re reading the Bible, like the REVOLTING Mrs Noem, you should try to actually live up to some parts of it. But as you say, there are many who like to talk about women’s rights and protection etc, and they can be some of the worst offenders, like Joe Biden and the Kennedys. I know people don’t like to hear it….but it’s true. That’s why I don’t like to get into political issues on a site like this because right away people become defensive and it becomes Whataboutism and the reality is….bad bullying obsessive deceitful behavior….is something humans on all sides do and we all have to be vigilant about it and not accept it wherever it comes from.

And looking back in time….how many of these political GUYS have left their wives with cancer for an updated, trouble free (generally wealthier) wife appliance…..like John McCain and Newt Gingrich just to mention 2 off the top of my head. Politics seems to attract the VERY WORST PEOPLE in an area where we really need the very best. We have to stop going along with these people, whether we agree with them politically or not. If they treat their own spouses and families badly privately…..they will SHIT ON US TOO. Don’t look the other way or excuse it. People who act like this need to go. Our public officials should be models of how to act…..not shameful grifters.

Then I think of Jackie Kennedy, she knew. Eleanor Roosevelt, she knew, Hillary Clinton, oh she knew, yes and Princess Diana, she knew and did you watch her life implode with that knowing? Do we shame them? The list is l o n g of the rich and famous and not so rich and famous that stayed to eat and digest one S sandwich after another. There are zero political couples that are not strained in this way. I don’t think there is a degree of liars on any political side because a creepy cheater is a creepy cheater and us chumps all walk the same miserable trail of tears. Yes i stayed for awhile because I didn’t believe my Mr X2X was doing anything but porn and flirting. Those “innocuous” things.I didn’t know at the time how bad it was. But I was so afraid to find out anything else that I hid my head in the sand until the storm came that I could not ignore. Then I had to file. This site is for us loving people who chose, for whatever reason to stay and then get blown up. I know also that in the political arena as well as with rock stars, pastors, lawyers, and all walks of life, these people can be falsely accused of affairs and liaisons to bring them.down. The spouses of these people are told their cheater spouse is a target to smear and they are being lied about. So these chumps have another layer of cake and frosting to battle. I’m grateful that my cheater was a nobody. Just an average church liar that many believed. I knew my truth and that was enough. I am praying for all the chumps who are being jerked around by their cheaters and cheater handlers and kept in the dark or just enough to stay in the relationship. I didn’t have that layer to battle. Let’s change the narrative one chump.at a time and be there for each other. Splitting us on CN weakens our goal of courage injections for the chump no matter what church, political party, Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, vaccine believers or deniers, Temple goer or Ashram, cannibals or vegans..the list is endless. Two goals( or more), Chump education stories,
And freedom! Let me not for myself, be a hypocrite and may I stand strong against all cheaters of all kinds. I rest my case.

I think both Jackie K and Diana went through incredible pain because of the cheating and both tried to handle it graciously esp Jackie whose marriage was ended, of course, by her husband’s murder. I wonder what might have happened if he had not been killed. Politician seems to be one of those classes of people who are very drawn to cheating and other anti-social behaviors and they have the power (and money usually) to get away with it. Again, I think the press should be routinely exposing this on ALL SIDES, and letting people know what kind of person they are voting for. Unfortunately many people will not care about cheating and they’ll just say it’s a private matter and then wonder why we keep getting screwed as a nation over and over. But we need a WHOLE LOT MORE MUCKRAKERS out there to expose this and other anti-social behavior powerful people are involved with. It doesn’t STAY in the bedroom. If the public wants to accept it, that’s their choice, but at least we should know.

I know she was clearly the victim of Lewandowski but who in God’s name would saddle their child with the name “Trashelle”? It makes me weep. Talk about marking someone for life. I don’t think any stripper in history ever adopted that stage alias. I remember my parents bemoaning some neighbor christening their child “Sherry Wein” but this really takes the cake.

On a related note, I did some quick Internet research which indicated that South Dakota law allows divorce for fault.
Although I suppose Gov. Noem could argue her husband has condoned her behavior.

Anyway, I hope he files for divorce. And I hope Lewandowski’s wife does the same. And I hope they both get excellent settlements!

Wow! That’s a lot to take in from the UK. But no smugness here. Just look at our headlines! Ignoring the obvious for a moment, last week the Guardian ran, in their regular feature on people’s sex lives, a ‘piece’ from an adulterous couple explaining how they get together behind their partners’ backs. So enriching for their sexual being. Cheating, lying, betrayal, it’s all so cool, don’t you know! And don’t you very dare say anything against it, you frigid Puritan.

I don’t spackle for anyone, even if I voted for them. It’s too easy (and false) to say things like “All Presidents are cheaters.” Nah. I can think of at least 3 US Presidents in my lifetime, from both the GOP side and the Dems, who have likely been faithful to their wives. Because if Laura Bush, and/or Michelle Obama were married to cheaters, trust that the public would certainly know about it by now.

I never stop being surprised at the insanity of cheaters getting caught and then still thinking they are above getting caught again. Wouldn’t the first time make you realize all you have to lose and send fear and stress and panic through your system so that you realize people are watching, your entire reputation and career and marriage and all your relationships are going to be blown up and then freakin stop what you are doing? I mean I know from personal experience it didn’t make my ex stop but it’s just such insane egotistical entitled behavior I can’t even wrap my head around it. How do these people get like this? Did they never experience consequences? Were they told they were special their whole lives by their parents? Were they constantly given exceptions? I really do think it crosses all party lines but like a reader said above it adds a whole extra layer of stupidity and insanity when one is preaching family values and then cheating. My ex would criticize and dismiss any celebrity or political figure for cheating – like what a scum ball – and he was cheating on our 27 year marriage, six child marriage at the same time!
I know we can’t untangle the skein of fuckedupness but hell is it the most insane mind boggling sort of obnoxious disgusting behavior ever.

Yeah, it’s all of them; I still think John Edwards was the Granddaddy of all lying cheating political sleazeballs.

Remember him? His wife literally gave her life for the weasely no good scum – Got hormone therapy for IVF for a new baby after the loss of their child, likely led to her breast cancer and … while she lay dying, there he is running around with the skank he impregnated PLUS pulled off the baby daddy dodge of the decade that would leave even Jerry Springer’s head spinning.

Tell me, WHO can top that?!?? (well he wasn’t a Jesus-cheater so there’s that)

CL, I have to agree, it’s the religious hypocrisy that gives the turbo power and triple bonus points to an otherwise run of the mill villain. The real Jesus condemned the cleancut pious conservative Pharisees as nests of vipers and children of the devil, but forgave and loved Mary Magdalene the ex-whore and the sinny Samaritan woman. He knew who they really were.

Saying “if a woman named after garbage won’t have you” as a joke about a victim of sexual harassment is totally inappropriate and very off-brand for CL. Im sure shes been mocked for her name her whole life, we dont usually side with bullies here.
